Wash the zucchini and slice them into thin circles (or shred them if you prefer). Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.

Cut the ham into small cubes.

Heat up the olive oil in a pan and sauté the zucchini, onion, and garlic until the zucchini softens and gets a little golden. Season it with salt, pepper, and the optional herbs.

Take a big bowl and mix the pre-cooked rice, the sautéed zucchini mix, the cubed ham, and the fresh cream. Add some seasoning to taste.

Preheat your oven to 180°C. Pour the mixture into a buttered baking dish, sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top, and pop it into the oven for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden and it’s thoroughly heated.
