Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper and grease it.

Stir together the salt, baking powder, and flour in a bowl.

Whip the butter and sugar in a large bowl until it’s fluffy and pale.

Crack in the eggs one at a time. Mix after each addition. Stir in the vanilla at the end.

Add the flour mixture bit by bit to the wet ingredients, switching off with splashes of milk. Mix until smooth.

Spread the batter evenly in the pan and smooth the surface.

Pop it in the oven for 30-35 minutes. A clean toothpick means it’s done!
