Soft Cookie Bar Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup softened butter
02 - 1/2 cup white sugar
03 - 1 cup packed brown sugar
04 - 1 teaspoon vanilla
05 - 1/4 cup milk
06 - 2 cups plain flour
07 - 1 cup chocolate chips
08 - 1/2 teaspoon salt

→ Chocolate Layer

09 - 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
10 - 1 tablespoon butter or coconut oil

# Instructions:

01 - In a big bowl, mix together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy and fluffy.
02 - Pour in the vanilla and milk, then mix until everything’s combined.
03 - Add the salt and flour, stirring everything together until you’ve got smooth dough.
04 - Toss in the chocolate chips and mix until they’re spread throughout the dough.
05 - Cover a baking pan with parchment paper and evenly press the dough inside. Smooth the surface.
06 - Pop the pan into the fridge for about an hour or until it feels firm.
07 - In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and butter (or coconut oil) in short 30-second bursts, stirring each time, until smooth.
08 - Pour the smooth chocolate over the firm dough layer and spread it evenly.
09 - Sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top for a nice finish.
10 - Place the dish back in the fridge for another 30 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
11 - Once everything’s firm, take it out, cut into bars, and dig in!
