Salisbury Steak with Gravy (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Patties

01 - 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
02 - 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
03 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
05 - 1 large egg
06 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
07 - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
08 - 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
09 - 2 tablespoons ketchup
10 - 1/2 teaspoon salt

→ Gravy

11 - 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
12 - Salt and black pepper to taste
13 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
14 - Dried thyme (1/4 teaspoon)
15 - 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
16 - 2 cups beef broth
17 - 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
18 - Fresh parsley for garnish
19 - 1 medium onion, thinly sliced

# Instructions:

01 - Gently mix the meat with breadcrumbs, egg, and spices. Shape into 4 oval portions.
02 - Cook patties on both sides for 3–4 minutes until browned. Set them aside.
03 - Melt some butter and cook the onions for 8–10 minutes until caramelized.
04 - Sprinkle flour over onions, then whisk in broth and seasonings until it thickens.
05 - Place patties into the gravy, cover, and simmer on low for 10–12 minutes (until they reach 160°F).

# Notes:

01 - Goes great with mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.
02 - Be careful not to overwork the ground beef to keep it soft.
