Preheat your pan on a medium-low flame. Grab the first bread slice, spread butter thickly on one side, and lay it down on your worktop with the butter side facing down.

Start assembling your sandwich by stacking prosciutto, shredded cheese, fresh mozzarella slices, pesto, and basil leaves. Sprinkle a bit of salt and pepper over everything, then press the second piece of bread on top, buttered side facing out.

Set your sandwich in the heated pan and let it cook for roughly 5 minutes per side. Aim for crispy, golden edges outside and gooey, melted cheese inside.
