Put the ham in a pot, fill it up with water, and set it on medium heat to boil. Afterward, let it simmer gently on low for half an hour.

Heat the oven to 140 °C (275 °F) and make sure a rack is set in the middle spot.

Drain the ham and stick the cloves into it. Move the ham to an oven-safe dish, layer pineapple slices on top, then pour in the pineapple juice and maple syrup.

Bake uncovered for an hour and a half. During cooking, pour the pineapple juice and syrup over the ham 2 or 3 times.
