Marbled Christmas Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 stick of butter, softened.
02 - 1 and a half cups of powdered sugar.
03 - 1 room-temperature large egg.
04 - 2 tsp of vanilla extract.
05 - Three cups of plain flour.
06 - 1 tsp baking powder.
07 - A pinch of kosher salt (about 1/4 teaspoon).
08 - Up to 2 tsp water, only if needed.
09 - 2 and a half cups powdered sugar (for the icing).
10 - About 1 and a quarter tbsp meringue powder.
11 - 3 to 4 tbsp lukewarm water.
12 - A quarter to 1 tsp of clear vanilla flavoring.
13 - Red, green, and blue gel food colors.

# Instructions:

01 - Whip butter with powdered sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla, then stir in sifted dry mix until it all comes together.
02 - Split dough into two, make each into a disc. Cover tightly with plastic. Leave it in the fridge for half an hour.
03 - Roll dough to about a quarter-inch thick, cut your desired shapes. Bake at 350°F for around 9-10 minutes, until the edges lightly brown.
04 - Whisk powdered sugar, meringue powder, water, and vanilla extract together until it reaches a drizzling texture.
05 - Pour icing into portions, add colors, and create swirls with a toothpick. Dip cookies, let the extra drip off, and leave them to harden for two hours.
