Christmas Butter Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/2 teaspoon salt.
02 - 1 big egg.
03 - 3/4 cup granulated sugar (150g).
04 - 1 cup room-temp butter (226g).
05 - 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (293g).
06 - 1 teaspoon almond extract.
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 350° and let it warm up.
02 - Whip butter, sugar, and salt until it's creamy.
03 - Add the egg, vanilla, and almond while scraping the bowl when needed.
04 - If you're using food coloring, stir it in now.
05 - Gently mix in the flour till the dough comes together.
06 - Load the dough into a cookie press and press shapes onto a clean baking sheet.
07 - Sprinkle decorations over the cookies if you'd like.
08 - Pop them in the oven for 8 minutes or until the edges start turning golden.
09 - Leave on the pan briefly, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

# Notes:

01 - If you're adding sprinkles after baking, wait till they're cooled to avoid melting.
02 - Don’t use parchment paper, or the dough won’t stick well.
03 - Gel-based food coloring gives the best results.
04 - Let the cookies cool before icing them.
05 - Keep an eye on the oven—they can brown quickly.
