Chop the onions into thin slices and sauté them in butter until soft.

Slice the carrot thinly and toss it into the pan with the onions. Let it cook for a bit.

Throw in the sausage along with the bacon. Let them get a nice golden color.

Pour in the lentils and cover them with the stock. Cover the pot and simmer it over medium heat for about 25 minutes once it begins to boil.

Drain (keep the cooking liquid if you want to make soup later). Serve steaming hot and drizzle a little vinegar over it, if that sounds good to you.
