Tender Brisket Cooker (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Proteins

01 - 1 whole brisket of beef

→ Spice Blend

02 - 1/4 teaspoon ground celery seed
03 - 1/4 teaspoon ground onion
04 - 1/2 teaspoon powdered garlic
05 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
06 - 1 teaspoon chili powder
07 - 1 teaspoon salt

→ Topping

08 - 1 tablespoon and 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
09 - A small splash of A1 steak sauce
10 - 1/8 cup brown sugar, packed tight
11 - 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard seed
12 - A blend of 1/2 cup ketchup and 1/2 cup chili sauce
13 - 1-1.5 teaspoons optional liquid smoke
14 - 2 tablespoons vinegar made from apples

# Instructions:

01 - Grab a small bowl and toss all the spice blend ingredients together. Rub that mixture all over the beef brisket, covering it evenly.
02 - Set the brisket with its rub into a 3-quart slow cooker. Let it sit for an hour before cooking. If you’ve got time, refrigerate it overnight for deeper flavor.
03 - Take a large bowl and stir all sauce ingredients together until smooth. Save half for later and pour the rest over the brisket in the slow cooker.
04 - Put the lid on the slow cooker. Cook on high for 4-5 hours, or choose low for 8 hours. The beef should break apart easily when it’s done.
05 - Cut the brisket into slices against the grain for the best texture. Add the extra sauce on the side as a dip.

# Notes:

01 - To really lock in the flavors, rub the brisket with spices the night before you plan to cook it, and let it chill in the fridge.
