Sweet Candied Potatoes (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup brown sugar.
02 - 1/4 cup pure maple syrup.
03 - 1 tablespoon water.
04 - 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg.
05 - 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger.
06 - Optional: 2 teaspoons orange zest.
07 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter.
08 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
09 - 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
10 - Optional garnish: fresh rosemary, flaky sea salt.
11 - 5-6 medium sweet potatoes (3-4 lbs).
12 - 1/2 teaspoon salt.

# Instructions:

01 - Slice and peel into 1/2-inch pieces. Spread in a greased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle some salt and lightly toss.
02 - Heat butter, syrup, sugar, water, and spices together. Let it boil for 2 minutes without mixing. Stir in the vanilla and zest if you'd like.
03 - Drizzle sauce over the potatoes. Bake uncovered for an hour, mixing every 20 minutes. Cover after the first 20. Let cool uncovered for 10 minutes before serving.
