Sumac Onion Salad (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 large red onion, sliced thinly
02 - 2 teaspoons sumac
03 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
04 - 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
05 - 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar or fresh lemon juice
06 - 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

# Instructions:

01 - Toss the onion slices, salt, and sumac in a medium bowl. Gently rub the onions with your hands until the seasoning clings well, for about 30 to 60 seconds.
02 - Add the vinegar, parsley, and oil. Stir it all together, cover the bowl, and let it sit for at least 20 minutes. You can also store it in a sealed container for up to four days.
03 - Use it as a side salad or a flavorful topping. Try it with burgers, wraps, salads, sandwiches, and more.

# Notes:

01 - The onions soften more over time. Drain extra liquid before serving if needed.
