# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1/2 green bell pepper, finely diced
02 - 1 onion, chopped small
03 - 1 rib celery, minced
04 - 1 tablespoon butter
05 - 1 tablespoon oil
06 - 3 minced garlic cloves
07 - 1 pound ground chicken
08 - 3 tablespoons cajun spices

→ Sauce

09 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
10 - 1/2 cup heavy cream
11 - 1/2 cup crushed tomatoes
12 - 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
13 - 4 burger rolls
14 - 1/2 to 1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

→ Optional Toppings

15 - Shredded lettuce
16 - Sour cream
17 - Sliced cheese
18 - Slaw

# Instructions:

01 - Heat oil and butter. Sauté the onion, celery, and pepper till they soften, around 7 minutes.
02 - Add chicken, crumbling it as it cooks. After 5 minutes, sprinkle in cajun spices and stir in garlic.
03 - Add tomatoes, cream, sugar, and hot sauce. Turn heat to low.
04 - Let it bubble gently for 15 minutes while stirring here and there. Adjust seasoning with salt.
05 - Lightly toast the buns and layer with your favorite toppings before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Cooking longer will make it thicker for a less sloppy texture.
02 - Toast your buns at the last minute so they’re still nice and crisp.
03 - Be cautious with salt, based on how salty your cajun spice mix is.
