Flaky Apple Pie (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Two pie crusts, store-bought or homemade.
02 - Eight large apples, sliced to fill 10 cups.
03 - Half a cup of white sugar.
04 - Quarter cup plain flour.
05 - One and a half teaspoons of cinnamon.
06 - A tablespoon of fresh lemon juice.
07 - Quarter teaspoon each of nutmeg and allspice.
08 - One egg mixed with a tablespoon of milk for brushing.
09 - Optional coarse sugar for sprinkling on top.

# Instructions:

01 - Toss apple slices with sugar, then mix in flour, spices, and lemon juice. Optionally, heat the mixture for 5 minutes before using.
02 - Set your oven to 400°F. Line a pie dish with the bottom crust and pour in the cooled or warmed apple mix. Top with a lattice design using the second crust, seal edges, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle sugar on top.
03 - Bake at 400°F for 25 minutes. Lower to 375°F, cover edges with a shield, and bake another 35-40 minutes. Wait at least 3 hours for it to cool before serving.
