In a big skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Toss in the sliced onions and sugar, stirring now and then. Cook them until they're golden and have that caramel-like sweetness, which takes about 20-25 minutes. If the onions stick, just add a splash of beef broth to loosen things up.

Grab a large bowl and mix the ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Once combined, shape the meat into 4 patties that are roughly the same size.
