Maple Glazed Carrots (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1/4 cup of maple syrup.
02 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
03 - 1/3 cup butter, divided into chunks.
04 - 1/2 teaspoon salt.
05 - 2 pounds of small carrots.
06 - 1/4 cup packed brown sugar.

# Instructions:

01 - Layer the carrots inside the slow cooker.
02 - Sprinkle on sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Stir carefully.
03 - Drizzle the maple syrup all over and toss to cover evenly.
04 - Scatter the butter pieces on top. Put the lid on.
05 - Let it cook for 3 hours on high or 5-6 hours on low, stirring every so often.
06 - For the last half-hour, take off the lid and switch to high heat so the sauce thickens up.
07 - Another option is to move the carrots to a bowl, boil the sauce in a pan for 5 minutes until thicker, then pour it back over the carrots.

# Notes:

01 - Swap maple syrup with honey, if you'd like.
02 - Pan-thickened sauce comes out richer.
03 - Regular large carrots work too—just cut them smaller.
