Homemade sweet donuts (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 eggs
02 - 1 cup (250 ml) sugar
03 - 1 cup (250 ml) milk
04 - 3 tbsp (45 ml) melted butter
05 - 4 cups (1 L) pastry flour
06 - ½ tsp (2.5 ml) ground nutmeg
07 - ½ tsp (2.5 ml) vanilla extract
08 - Vegetable shortening for frying, enough to submerge donuts

# Instructions:

01 - Whisk the eggs and sugar together. Stir in the milk and melted butter. Keep mixing until smooth.
02 - Gradually add flour, about 1 cup (250 ml) at a time. Toss in the nutmeg and vanilla, and stir until the dough comes together nicely.
03 - Lightly dust a flat surface with flour and roll out the dough. Use a cutter to shape the donuts.
04 - Heat the shortening for frying and cook the donuts for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they're a deep golden color.
