01 -
Let 1 cup of milk sit out until it reaches room temperature.
02 -
Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, then let it cool off.
03 -
Stir together 4 cups of flour with 1 teaspoon of salt until evenly mixed.
04 -
Mix 2 tablespoons of warm milk and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Add the dry yeast and wait about 10 minutes for it to foam up.
05 -
Pour the activated yeast mixture, remaining milk, 2 beaten eggs, and melted butter into the bowl with the flour. Stir until well combined.
06 -
Knead the dough with a dough hook or by hand until it's smooth and stretchy.
07 -
Put the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 2 hours until it doubles in size.
08 -
After it has risen, punch the dough down, then roll it out on a floured surface to about ½ inch thick.
09 -
Use a round cutter to cut circles from the dough. Lay them on a lightly floured tray and let them sit for 20 minutes to puff up again.
10 -
Pour 2-3 inches of vegetable oil into a deep pot and heat it to 350°F. Get a piping bag with the jam ready and prepare a bowl of powdered sugar.
11 -
Once the oil's hot, fry the doughnuts, turning until golden on all sides. Dust them in powdered sugar immediately after frying.
12 -
Pierce the side of each doughnut with the piping bag tip. Squeeze in the jam until you feel resistance.
