Homemade Castor Treats (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dough

01 - 750 ml all-purpose flour
02 - 5 ml salt
03 - 1 egg
04 - 75 ml vegetable oil
05 - 16 g yeast (2 tbsp)
06 - 2.5 ml ground cinnamon
07 - 60 ml sugar
08 - 125 ml lukewarm water

→ Topping

09 - 5 ml ground cinnamon
10 - 125 ml sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Stir the sugar and cinnamon together. In a large bowl, pour in lukewarm water and add the sugar mixture and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
02 - Combine the oil, egg, and salt in a cup. Pour this into the yeast mixture you prepared earlier.
03 - Start by adding half of the flour to the wet mix and stir for 5-6 minutes. Keep adding flour until the dough pulls away cleanly from the bowl.
04 - Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Allow it to rise until it's twice as big in a warm spot.
05 - Roll the dough into beaver tail shapes. Make three slits in the center and heat oil to 175 °C. Fry both sides until golden brown.
06 - Blend the cinnamon and sugar for the topping together.
07 - Coat the warm pastries in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Serve them hot, maybe with some homemade caramel on the side.

# Notes:

01 - Letting the dough rise in a warm spot helps speed up the fermentation process.
