Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to preheat.

Roll out the puff pastry and chop it into rectangular shapes.

Layer some ham and cheese on top of each rectangle.

Roll up each rectangle and use the beaten egg to seal the edges.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Put the rolls on it, brush them with the rest of the egg, and sprinkle salt and pepper on top.

Bake for about 15–20 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
