Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Whisk the yolks with the sugar until the mix is pale and creamy.

Mix the flour, applesauce, milk, and baking powder into the yolk mixture. Make sure it's smooth.

Whip the egg whites with a little salt until stiff peaks form. Carefully fold them into your batter.

Melt the chocolate, and stir half of the plain batter with the melted chocolate.

Pour the plain and chocolate batters alternately into a cake mold. Steam it for 50 minutes or bake in the oven for 35 minutes at 175°C.
