Take the brie out of its packing. If there's a wooden box, feel free to use it to hold the cheese—it looks nice. If not, place it on a small oven-safe dish.

Use a knife to lightly slice a crisscross pattern across the top. This makes it easier for the jam to soak in while it bakes.

Spread a layer of fig spread over the brie. If you'd like, sprinkle the nuts, thyme, or drizzle some honey on top now.

Slide it into your oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. You'll know it's good to go when the cheese softens—press it gently to test.
