Easy Turkey Brine (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups of brown sugar.
02 - 1 1/2 cups of kosher salt.
03 - 3 tablespoons of peppercorns.
04 - 5 whole bay leaves.
05 - Peel from three oranges.
06 - 4 tablespoons of fresh rosemary.
07 - 5 minced garlic cloves.
08 - 2 gallons of chilled water.
09 - 3 cups of apple cider or juice.

# Instructions:

01 - Toss all the ingredients in a big pot, heat it, and stir until the sugar and salt dissolve.
02 - Once it’s off the heat, cover it and let the brine sit until it’s fully cooled down.
03 - Put the raw turkey into a brining bag or large container, pour in the brine, and let it chill in the fridge for 16–24 hours.
04 - Take the turkey out of the brine, throw the brine away, and let the turkey soak in fresh cold water for 15 minutes.
05 - Dry the turkey completely after removing it from the water and roast it as you normally would.

# Notes:

01 - Keep the turkey in the fridge during brining.
02 - Never use the same brine twice; throw it out when you're done.
03 - The fresh water soak will help reduce extra salt from the bird.
