Easy Layered Dessert (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - Two ready-made puff pastry sheets.
02 - 20g powdered sugar.
03 - 1 vanilla pod.
04 - 375ml whole milk.
05 - 3 egg yolks.
06 - 60g granulated sugar.
07 - 30g cornstarch.
08 - 10g all-purpose flour.
09 - 30g unsalted butter.
10 - Confectioners' sugar for topping.

# Instructions:

01 - Split the vanilla pod, scrape out the seeds. Heat the milk with the vanilla, then let it sit and soak for an hour.
02 - Whisk the egg yolks and sugar together, then mix in the cornstarch and sifted flour. Slowly pour in the warm milk, stirring, and heat until it thickens.
03 - Stir in the butter, cover the surface with cling film, and let it cool completely.
04 - Set your oven to 180°C. Cut out 18 circles, each 9 cm across, sprinkle with sugar, and cover with baking paper and a rack.
05 - Bake for 40 minutes until golden, then leave to cool down.
06 - Using a piping bag, layer cream onto 12 circles and stack them up. Top with a plain circle and finish with a dusting of powdered sugar.
