Easy Cabbage Skillet (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Protein

01 - 1 pound of ground beef

→ Veggies

02 - 1 can (14 oz) of diced tomatoes
03 - 1 small head cabbage, chopped and cored
04 - 1 bell pepper, finely chopped
05 - 1 onion, diced

→ Spices

06 - 1 tsp of black pepper
07 - 2 tsp of smoky paprika powder
08 - 2 tsp of garlic powder
09 - 2 tsp of Creole seasoning (Tony Chachere's)

→ Dairy Products

10 - 2 cups of cheddar, shredded

# Instructions:

01 - In a big pan over medium heat, fully cook the beef. Drain the fat but leave about 2-3 tablespoons in the pan to keep some flavor.
02 - Throw in the diced onion and chopped bell pepper. Cook for 3 or 4 minutes, stirring, until they start softening up.
03 - Add the chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes, black pepper, garlic powder, Creole seasoning, and smoked paprika to the pan. Cover it and let it cook for 20-25 minutes, checking occasionally and stirring. Taste and tweak the seasoning if you need to.
04 - Spread the shredded cheddar all over the top. Put the lid back on and let it sit until the cheese melts fully, which should take about 2 or 3 minutes.
05 - Serve warm. It works great as is, or you can pair it with some rice on the side.

# Notes:

01 - Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning already has salt, so taste first before adding extra.
02 - Want fewer carbs? Just leave out the rice.
