In a big bowl, stir together the coconut, sugar, and condensed milk.

Roll mixture into small 1-inch balls and set them on a pan lined with wax paper. Pop them in the fridge to firm up.

Microwave the chocolate chips with shortening, stirring it up until it's silky smooth.
