Cook cherries with 2 tbsp water for a few minutes until they soften. Gently mash them.

Steep the Earl Grey in a cup of hot water for a few minutes. Take out the tea bag or strain the leaves.

Warm the milk on low heat with the cherries and, if using, the cinnamon stick. Stir it every now and then.

Mix in some vanilla syrup to suit your taste preference.

Pour the brewed tea into a cup. Strain in the milk mixture, pressing the cherries to release their flavor. Stir it all together.

Drink it warm right away or pour it over ice for a cold version. Optionally decorate with a cherry or cinnamon stick.
