Philly Steak Sandwich (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 small green bell pepper, chopped.
02 - 1 small yellow onion, chopped.
03 - 6 brioche burger buns.
04 - 1 cup beef broth.
05 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
06 - 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper.
07 - 8 ounces of shredded or chopped Provolone cheese (or use 6 ounces if you'd like less).
08 - 2 tablespoons of ketchup.
09 - 8 ounces of finely chopped mushrooms.
10 - 2 tablespoons of melted butter.
11 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce.
12 - 1 pound of lean ground beef.
13 - 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

# Instructions:

01 - Heat up a cast iron skillet and sauté the ground beef. Wait till about half of the beef gets a nice dark crust, then stir and crumble it up.
02 - Take the cooked beef out of the skillet but leave the rendered fat in the pan.
03 - Toss the mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions into the pan with butter. Let them sit for a minute or two to brown before stirring. Repeat until golden.
04 - Place the browned beef back into the skillet.
05 - Combine the cornstarch with beef broth in a small cup.
06 - Pour in the ketchup, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and the cornstarch-beef broth mix. Stir everything up well.
07 - Let the mixture cook for a few minutes, just until it’s slightly saucy and most of the ingredients sit above the liquid.
08 - Turn off the stove and mix the cheese into the beef mixture until melted.
09 - Pile the beef mixture onto toasted brioche buns and dig in!

# Notes:

01 - This dish tastes amazing fresh, but you can keep leftovers in the fridge for up to two days in an airtight container.
02 - Swap the Provolone cheese for American cheese if you want a creamier bite.
03 - Add stuff like pickles or hot sauce if you want more flavor punch.
