Caramelized apple cups (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the caramelized apples

01 - 3 Golden or Reinette apples, peeled and diced
02 - 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
03 - 30 g of butter
04 - 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)

→ For the whipped cream

05 - 100 g mascarpone
06 - 200 ml chilled heavy whipping cream
07 - 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
08 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

→ For topping

09 - Salted caramel sauce (optional)
10 - Crushed speculoos cookies

# Instructions:

01 - Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the apple cubes along with the sugar and cinnamon. Stir occasionally and cook for 5-7 minutes until they turn golden and caramelized. Set aside to cool slightly.
02 - Beat the chilled cream together with mascarpone and powdered sugar until it thickens and becomes smooth. You can mix in the vanilla extract if you'd like.
03 - In each small serving glass, layer the caramelized apples, whipped mascarpone cream, and crushed cookies. If you want, drizzle salted caramel sauce on top to finish.
04 - Let the assembled glasses chill in the fridge for about an hour so the flavors blend perfectly before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Switch the cream and mascarpone for plant-based options to make it dairy-free.
02 - You can prep the apples ahead of time and keep them refrigerated.
03 - Use a piping bag if you want the cream layers to look extra neat.
