Cookie Brownie Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup (180g) chocolate chips, semi-sweet.
02 - 8 tablespoons (113g) butter, not salted.
03 - 1/4 cup (24g) cocoa powder, Dutch-processed.
04 - 1 cup (200g) sugar, white.
05 - Two eggs.
06 - 2/3 cup (80g) plain flour.
07 - Half a teaspoon of salt.
08 - 8 tablespoons (113g) butter, unsalted, for cookies.
09 - Half a cup (100g) dark brown sugar.
10 - 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar.
11 - One room-temperature egg.
12 - Half a teaspoon of vanilla.
13 - 1 1/3 cups (160g) all-purpose flour.
14 - Half a teaspoon baking powder.
15 - 1/4 teaspoon baking soda.
16 - 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
17 - 3/4 cup (130g) semi-sweet chocolate chunks.

# Instructions:

01 - Melt butter on medium heat until you see small browned bits and the color turns golden. Move 90g into a bowl.
02 - Set oven to 350°F/175°C. Line an 8-inch square tray with parchment paper and grease it lightly.
03 - Melt butter and chocolate together. Stir in cocoa powder. In another bowl, whisk sugar and eggs until airy. Gently combine both mixes, then add flour and salt carefully.
04 - Stir the sugars into the browned butter. Mix in the vanilla and egg. Add the dry ingredients and chocolate chunks, stirring just enough to combine.
05 - Start with a brownie layer, spread most of the cookie dough, follow with the last of the brownie batter, and top with cookie pieces. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the edges are set.

# Notes:

01 - Center should jiggle a little when it’s ready.
02 - Cool entirely before slicing and enjoying.
03 - An oven thermometer is a good idea for accuracy.
