Slow Cooker Ziti (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 diced onion (small pieces).
02 - 1 pound of ground beef.
03 - 1 teaspoon of garlic, chopped up small.
04 - 1 teaspoon of parsley, dried.
05 - 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt.
06 - 1 teaspoon dried basil.
07 - 28-ounce can of chopped tomatoes.
08 - 2 1/2 cups of low-sodium chicken stock.
09 - 650ml jarred pasta sauce (roughly 2 1/2 cups).
10 - 375 grams of penne or ziti (one box).
11 - 2 cups mozzarella, shredded.

# Instructions:

01 - Cook the meat and onion in a pan till browned. Stir in the garlic and season with spices; let it cook one more minute.
02 - In a slow cooker (4-quart or bigger), mix in your cooked beef, tomatoes, pasta sauce, and broth. Stir it all together well.
03 - Set the heat on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours and let it cook slowly.
04 - Switch the slow cooker to high. Toss in the pasta, stir, and leave it for about 15-30 minutes until it's tender.
05 - Scatter the cheese over the top, put the lid on, and let it sit 3-5 minutes until it's melted.

# Notes:

01 - For a quicker option, skip cooking the meat first.
02 - Feel free to switch ground beef for another type.
03 - The pasta cooks right in the sauce!
04 - Start checking the pasta at 15 minutes.
