Easy Monte Cristo Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main ingredients

01 - 255 g diced ham
02 - 180 g grated Swiss cheese
03 - 6 cups of day-old French bread cut into cubes
04 - 4 medium whole eggs
05 - 375 ml light cream
06 - 1.5 teaspoons Dijon mustard
07 - A dash of nutmeg
08 - Salt and pepper to taste

# Instructions:

01 - Turn your oven to 180°C and put a light coat of non-stick spray on the inside of a 20x20 cm or 22x22 cm baking dish. Set it aside.
02 - In a big bowl, whisk together the eggs, light cream, mustard, nutmeg, and some salt and pepper until smooth.
03 - Toss the bread cubes into the wet mixture and stir so they soak up the liquid.
04 - Carefully fold in the diced ham and grated Swiss cheese.
05 - Dump everything into the greased baking dish. Pop it in the oven and bake for roughly 40 minutes. It's ready when the edges look golden and the cheese is melty.
06 - When it's done, take the dish out of the oven. Let it rest for a few minutes, slice it up, and dish it out. Add a dollop of raspberry jam on the side if you want.
