01 -
Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place parchment paper inside a loaf pan and keep it to the side.
02 -
Stir together the cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar in a small bowl. Set it nearby.
03 -
In a big bowl, combine the sugar, butter, sour cream, milk, eggs, and vanilla. Stir until smooth using a whisk or electric mixer. In a different bowl, mix the baking powder, baking soda, flour, and salt. Gradually combine the wet and dry mixtures, stirring gently without overdoing it.
04 -
Chop the apple into cubes after peeling and coring it. Hold back some pieces for adding on top later.
05 -
Add half the batter to the loaf pan, smooth the surface, and sprinkle on part of the cinnamon sugar mix. Gently swirl using a butter knife. Top with the rest of the batter, sprinkle on the leftover cinnamon sugar, add the reserved apple chunks, and do another knife swirl on the top layer.
06 -
Pop the pan into the oven and bake it for around 50-55 minutes. Test it with a toothpick—if it comes out dry, it's ready. Let the baked loaf sit on a cooling rack for 10-20 minutes.
07 -
Mix the hot water and powdered sugar in a tiny bowl until smooth and pourable. Drizzle or spoon it over the now-cool loaf.
08 -
Leave the glazed loaf for 5-10 minutes, then slice it up and serve.
